All Levels 11:15 AM - 12:15 PM

"People always ask me how to get the 'look' of Lindy Hop. I always respond, 'Learn as many Boogie steps as you can; these have the essence of our dance, will get you moving like a Lindy Hopper, and they are a great short-cut to getting that look!"

Rusty's Rhythm Club Stomp is an easy and super fun 1-chorus (non-partnered) Boogie routine from the 1940s that includes Charleston, Fall Off The Log, Sugar Foot, Knee Slaps, and more. In addition to the routine, you'll learn many more Boogie steps and how to incorporate them into your social dancing.

Group 2

Connection and Technique,

Level: Should Know Sugar Pushes & Swingouts 2:30 PM -3:30 PM

Like building a house with a good foundation, Lindy Hop needs the same foundation for everything else to work. The wonderful thing about Lindy Hop, is that you can keep working on that foundation and technique throughout your whole dancing life, because there is always one more idea waiting for you just around the corner. In this class, we'll have fun going through the concepts of connection and technique that will make everything else in the dance possible!

Hollywood Style,

Level: Should Know Basic Sendouts & Swingouts 3:45 PM - 4:45 PM

The Hollywood Style dates back in popularity to the late 1930s in Los Angeles, and had a big resurgence there in the late 1990s. Rusty Frank has had the great honor of working closely with many of the original LA dancers from back in the day. Rusty has worked with dance legend, Jean Veloz (now 94 years of age) and her dance partner brother, Ray Phelps, since 1998. She has gleaned into their info as both Lead and Follow and will pas on all the details from both sides of the dance to all of you. We will work on Lead and Follow footwork and swivel styling in the moves.
